Study smarter, not harder

We live in the technology-driven world where electronic tools have become an essential part
of many areas of life, especially education. Although technology has made education easier
and more accessible,it can also become a source of distraction. Excessive digital distractions
can negatively affect students’ concentration. To address this problem, students can use
effective productivity hacks that can help them stay focused and learn more effectively.

WHEN TECHNOLOGY BECOMES A DISTRACTION.

Technology and other digital tools that students use in their everyday education can become
harmful because they have some disadvantages that can lead to distraction. Students can
become less motivated and more passive when they rely on artificial intelligence instead of
thinking for themselves.

For instance,when students receive a difficult task,they may use AI(artificial intelligence)to
help them solve it. They can also ask AI to complete the task for them. As a result, a student
may find a solution to a problem without actually solving it independently. This can lead to
students relying on AI in situations that they could solve by themselves. Therefore, regular use
of artificial intelligence in students' education can lead to over-reliance on AI. Students may
rely heavily on AI instead of thinking independently. As a result, they may lose the ability to
think critically and concentrate on difficult tasks.

One of the most useful ways to improve productivity is to spend less time using digital media.I
don't think I’ve said anything completely new here, since the approach is already quite
relevant today. Nevertheless, social media and entertaining content can have a negative
impact on our studying because we may constantly feel the need to distract ourselves from
studying and switch to something more entertaining, such as scrolling social media.
Therefore, students waste valuable time and may find it more difficult to return to the task.
Constantly switching between studying and entertaining content can reduce concentration
and make the learning process less effective.

Staying focused is only one part of productive learning. Another important question is how we
can make the information we learn stay in our memory for longer. One answer to this question
is spaced repetition.

SPACED REPETITION: LEARNING
FOR THE LONG TERM.

One of the most effective productive hacks for learning new information is spaced repetition.
This method helps students remember information by reviewing it at regular intervals.
For example, imagine a student learning foreign language who has just learned 20 new words.
Instead of trying to memorize all the words in one study session, the student can review them
at spaced intervals. For instance, after learning words, the student may review them again after
a short delay and then continue reviewing them over longer intervals. During each review, the
student can try to recall the words from memory rather than simply reading them again. This
combination of spaced practice and retrieval practice can make information easier to recall
later.

This method can be especially useful for students because it can help them remember
information more effectively. Some people may think that spaced repetition is simply
repeating the same material, but it is more than that. By reviewing information at spaced
intervals and trying to recall it from memory, students can strengthen their long-term
retention.

CONCLUSION.

Modern technology has changed the way we learn, but it doesn't mean that artificial
intelligence and other AI tools are dangerous. Instead, these tools can provide us with
opportunities to learn and succeed in different areas. However,it depends on how we use
these tools — whether they benefit us or harm our learning. In addition, productivity hacks
such as spaced repetition can make studying more enjoyable and effective.

Studying productively is not about how much material you can cover, but about how
effectively you can learn and remember it.
